Naming, identity, branding and packaging for Kernel & Roast, the world’s first emporium for natural and organic foods – offering specially selected, high-quality gourmet provisions and regional delicacies that support good, honest eating and living. From carefully selected nuts, coffee and chocolate to Antalya preserves, authentic Turkish lokum, organic Caucasus bee honey and Mediterranean oils; it’s a place to discover exceptional foods, naturally. Project undertaken at CADA Design, I took the vibrancy of organic products and their natural, colourful origins and translated this across the brand. All collateral spanning retail bags, coffee cups, packaging and signage, right down to shelf ticketing followed an earthy yet colourful theme, with the logo representing “Nature’s Storehouse”. The interior design team focussed on natural timber woods, polished concrete, antique brass and industrial ‘storehouse’ details. Illustrator Mariana Tomaselli was commissioned to bring the Kernel & Roast brand to life via her beautiful series of images showcasing suppliers and locations from around the world. With its first flagship site open at Westfield White City, London, Kernel & Roast is in prime position for a wide cultural customer base.
