Hand-barrelled single malt whisky for a hard coded digital world. Limited edition of 250 bottles with bitcoin fundamentals.

Marketed towards the bitcoin community, Genesis Block is a single malt Ardmore whisky, distilled in a bourbon cask on the mining of the genesis block. It’s name taken directly from genesis block (the first block of a block chain, hard-coded into software of the applications that utilise it) created on or just after January 3, 2009. The same date the whisky was barrelled. A limited edition of only 250 bottles that can ever be produced gives it ultimate scarcity and rarity. For some it becomes a collectable item, for others to be a part of a wider community.

Along with a simple brand identity and aesthetic, the main show are the four labels – the main edition and four limited editions; the main label using the raw hex code of the Genesis Block. The limited edition labels are of three economists writings and findings. They founded what is known as the Austrian School of Economics, which is key in underpinning a lot of the Bitcoin fundamentals.
