NAMING, IDENTITY & BRANDING - FASHION & LIFESTYLE

European styling for the style-conscious, East-Asian market.

Modamĕi is a premium, personal shopping and fashion platform targeting the style-conscious East-Asian woman offering professional, individual styling and an international shopping service; giving them access and knowledge to a wide range of European fashion brands not normally accessible or well-known in the Chinese market. From naming to full collateral, the brand began exploring European and Chinese words, ultimately creating a portmanteau Modamĕi: ‘Moda’ [from the French meaning fashion, trend, style] and ‘Mĕi’ [the Chinese for beautiful, very satisfactory, to beautify, to be pleased with oneself.] Awakening women by empowering their styles and identities through style. The logotype and visual identity remained neutral to work globally, with the collateral luxurious, minimal and understated. Modamen is the younger brother of Modamĕi focussing on men’s style and tailoring. The brand colours were reversed to form more a more ‘masculine’ sub-identity.
